STATEMENT
I am a visual artist and therefore biased towards
aesthetic beauty.
New ideas are fine but what appeal do they have
to the eye when they are not presented aesthetically. The laws of
aesthetics are not new; they have already been discovered. This
fact should not devalue them, because each visual artist is capable
of creating their own new interpretation of what appeals to our
human sense of beauty. As humans we have an innate appreciation
of fractal patterns that fall into certain ratios. Why else do we
respond to marble and stone surfaces, clouds and sunsets, flowers
and plants?
Light revels the organic form of humans and plants.
Transitions encompass unbalanced opposites which creates interest.
Value, line, texture, shape, edge, and focus. These are the visual
elements that excite me and the ones I use in creating my art.
